Emily and Andy collaborated to write and record "Legends" from May 2025 through the release of the song in October 2025. The co-writing and co-production was done across 10,000 miles between their respective homes in Adelaide, Australia, and Florida, USA. While in Atlanta for the 2025 ISSA Awards, Andy and Emily put the finishing touches on their production by recording their vocals together in the hotel room in Atlanta. They also recorded the LIVE Acoustic Version video in the hotel room which was released after the single release.
