Thanks for this peek at your new song, Emily! The fact it's inspired by a character created over a hundred years ago is definitely appropriate for a Nouveau Classic piece.

Fortunately, I've never experienced stage (or radio) fright. I quallified for "Academic Challenge" as a high school sophomore, and the other boy who made the team (we also had a female captain) thought I'd freeze up in the TV studio, and appealed to the faculty advisor to replace me, I was able to convince Mr. Balas that I would be fine, and proceeded to be the star of the team as the cameras rolled.

Yes, I tried out for "Jeopardy!" at an audition in Cleveland and passed the test, but was not selected to travel to L.A. and appear on the show. I also qualified for "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" during two trips to New York, but did not get "the call" either time.

Great job, Emily and Mix! I was reminded of the time I read a woman's comment that she had always heard "the dark sacred night" as "dogs say goodnight", which does fit the tone of the lyrics.

I watched the show both when it originally aired and in repeats, but I don't remember hearing this song.
