Is it proper to write an establishment will be closed on 4 July in "honor" of Independence Day or in "observance" of Independence Day,or either is correct? I think observance is correct. Just curious because a laundry mat I frequent is closing in honor of Indepence Day. It just doesn't sound right to me.
