Behind the song... "Is There a Rainbow for Me"

Inspiration can come from the most unexpected places...

It all began when I was writing a story. A character was wandering the streets on a rainy night in a quiet city. She needed a song, so I gave her one.

"Is There a Rainbow for Me" was born.

What I didn't realize at the time was that the song wasn't just written for the character in my story. It was written for me. It was written for all people who search the clouds looking for a bit of light.

I think we are all looking for rainbows in our own ways. We are all hoping for a brighter, happier tomorrow. It can be difficult in dark days to remember God’s promise of hope and light, but we keep moving forward, making do until things get better, trusting in the promise of the rainbow.

I have always loved the rain especially at night - the pattering sound on the roof, the prismatic glisten of wet grass in the moonlight, the way the earth smells after a rain... the world feels new and clean.

The song is a reminder that the beauty and hope in life is always there, we just need to keep the right perspective to see it.
